Note left for Daddy when Ethan went away for a few nights!

Ethan received a new bed from his Papa and Shisha and Grant did just fine in it the first night. Made it through the whole night. Yes, I meant to type Grant. Grant loves the new bed and believes that Ethan needs more time for cuddling all of a sudden. The funny part is, Ethan will crawl up, over, on-top of him (pretty much sounds like a circus from the other room) and come crawl in with me without Grant even knowing. Ethan loves to cuddle with his momma!

Isn't independence suppose to create less work for parents?

Ethan independently washes and drys his hands. We have yet to master putting the towel back as well as not touching the wall, doorframe and door on the way to washing his hands. I think I might start putting a nickel in a jar everytime I pick the towel up and see where it gets me. Three nickels will be deposited if I pick it up after the 33 year old, not the 3 year old...

Can choice of toys be genetic?

For those of you who can remember my childhood room...it is starting to happen in my 3 year olds room (but I have contained the animal party to his closet). As a child, I LOVED stuffed animals. As an adult, I HATE stuffed animals. I think they are the most useless toy. My parents are much better then I for letting, ohhhh probably close to 100 stuffed animals to be show-cased in my room. Thank goodness Ethan likes to rotate them, choosing the ONE he likes to sleep with. I can hear their little voices saying...pick me...pick me...when it comes to rotation time!!!

Is this Grant in college?

Here's Ethan (on a different day from an earlier post) sleeping on our couch. And yes, he was breathing!

What happens at G-ma B's, stays at G-ma B's!!!

Rest after a day of play!

Ethan often falls asleep in the car after a day of play at childcare. We can still master the transfer from car to house. We have yet to master car to bed. When he was a baby we would find him in all types of different sleeping positions. (Folded in half was his favorite.) With him using covers now, it is hard to tell what type of body fold he is in.

Limitations needed on fruit at the Melvilles!

Ethan loves his fruit and I discovered one day that he helped himself to the fresh bag of grapes. This vine was initially fully packed with grapes! Grant had the next two days of diaper changes when I was at work! Good work Ethan, holding off until Momma was gone!

Cookie Clown!

Great at his day job!

Grant had to hire our handyman to put together a bike for Ethan. God love Grant for being so GREAT at teaching and coaching! I think I use a hammer more than him around here. Growing up with a Millright as a Father probably has nothing to do with it...

I give Grant the benefit of the doubt as it is still not together as our handyman has to do some modifications to make things fit appropriately.
The beauty of this blog is that Grant has no interest in it and allows me to poke fun at him. Trust me, he gets his share in with me!

Horse or Dog?

We are so thankful to have a loving patient dog! There are somedays I would like to bite Ethan for being so rough with Chinook!

The joys of parenthood!

Grant can't wait to get back to work. He deals with High Schooler "crap" much better!

Our first movie date!

I took Ethan to see his first movie (The Princess and the frog). My handsome little man snuggled in my lap the whole time! I loved our time together!

Busy, busy, busy!

Sleeping with Papa!

Ethan truly loves his Papa and Papa wanted to sleep with him, but Ethan did not want anything to do with it on Christmas Day!

Cookies!

Cookies anyone? Extra flavor!

Christmas Eve!

Throughout the Christmas Season, Ethan loved to rearrange the ornaments on the tree!

Reindeer food!

Feeding the reindeer for the second time as Chinook helped herself to their food...

A different kind of play!

Ethan is loving to play table top games and Grant's patience as Ethan likes to make up his own rules! Ethan has his thinking finger on his cheek! Wonder if Chinook (our dog) is going to know her colors too!

No deer...again

This would be Grant's 4th year of not getting a deer. At least he is smiling in this picture. Ethan always asks "Daddy, I go hunting with you?"

Shisha loves her boys!

Geotrak Papa!

Papa loves to play too!

Matthew

For those of you that know my nephews (Matthew) story...this is him! HEALTHY and I must say HANDSOME too! I went on the Zhu Zhu pet craze for him too!

Redemption

Ethan's Aunt Sherri got Ethan a pink baby with stroller last Christmas that he absolutely LOVED, but Grant was all worked up that HIS SON had a pink baby! This year, Aunt Sherri, redeemed herself (in Grant's eyes) by getting baby a camo outfit as well as a hunting figurine set. Hunting scenarios have been occurring on the floor of our living room. I think Grant enjoys it more than Ethan!

Zhu Zhu pets!

I had no idea what the craze was about with Zhu Zhu pets until I was at Toys R Us when a shipment came in and an employee asked me if I would like a ticket to get one as it is "the toy of the year". So I stood in line for something I new nothing about, but my 87 year old Grandma knew what it was about! Some kid cried on Christmas because they didn't get a Zhu Zhu, but my Grandma did! The report is she is having fun with it!

Reindeer sleeping!

Shopping is hardwork!

Reindeer hat!

Going Christmas Shopping with Daddy! Why doesn't Daddy smile like this when he is going shopping?

Nothing to do with Santa...

Our 3 year old has it all already figured out...weeks leading up to Christmas Ethan would tell us, "If Santa doesn't bring it to me, Papa (his Grandpa) will!"
