Ethan's 4th "Train" Birthday!

We pretended to eat on a train! Thanks to Shisha (Grandma Patricia) for reminding us of all the bumps we encountered!

Ethan's orange train cake! I normally enjoy making his cakes, but this year Ethan seriously stressed me out as everything needed to be OCD specific with him! I searched in many stores for the orange cake mix and Ethan was thinking that we were going in the store to buy a whole cake and stated "momma, you don't buy my cakes, you make my cakes!" No future pressure here!!!

History has shown that we do not take nice family pictures on Ethan's Birthday!

Tell the boys to play down stairs and this is what happens! Skin wrestling! So happy they love each other!

The new truck or the box it came in? Everyone was encouraging Ethan to hold up his fingers to show "4". Noticed everyone else holding their age up. We will give the almost "94" Great Grandma Rita (in purple) a break on this one!

Mary Poppins!

The females in the family went to see Mary Poppins for Sherri's 40th Birthday! What a great looking bunch!

November 12th --dressing independence!

Grant and I were out in the yard enjoying the beautiful day and apparently, Ethan thought it was a little nicer then us! This is the outfit he purposely went inside to change in to. (He has dress socks on too!) In addition to this being funny, I clearly remember Grant wearing an outfit similar at Disney World in 1993! (Grant, I did spend sometime trying to dig up a photo but to your luck I was not successful!)

Watch out Holt!

Ethan went to "school" for a special 1/2 day program to allow the high schoolers a chance to set up learning environments for youngers. I am not sure who was more excited...Daddy or Ethan! Ethan loves going to Grant's classroom and role playing already so I can only image the excitement when he sees that he gets to play with age appropriate things. (Although I must say, Ethan does enjoy using the graphing calculator and protractors in Grant's room! They personally still scare me!) Ethan was asking lots of questions at 6:30am this morning and the most important was...do I get to see the football players? and do I get to go on the field?
I'm not sure if I can handle another math-jock in my household!
On a side note: Notice that Ethan has the infamous "Dishaw" held tilt when taking this picture. Grant had to point it out. Some good genetics do come shining through!

23 weeks AND...

someone else wants back in!!!

James the train and his crew!

James the train really did love his costume...just wished not to smile in this picture!

James the train is #5 and I was reminded of this when assembling his costume! Nothing passes by this kid!
James the train, Sir Topham Hat and the Engineer!

Fingers...yum...yum!

Pregnancy = no pants!

When I was pregnant with Ethan, wait..let me rephrase this..when I was VERY pregnant with Ethan, I received a call from Grant shortly before the team was to leave for their game stating that he forgot the football TEAMS pants (he had to launder them as the schools machines were broke) and wondered if I could bring them out to the school. Fast forward...4 football seasons later...I received a call from my husband stating that he forgot HIS football coaching pants. 2006 and 2010 would have called for an interesting game if Grant did not have a wonderful understanding wife!

How many 3 (almost 4 year olds) would sit and call plays for close to 2 quarters?

Trick or treating with friends!

"My handsome little James the train, the last time we were in one of these together, it was not a pleasant experience and I felt like a train ran over me. I love you and thank God for you each and every day! Love - Momma"

James the train dancing with his friend Jaylon (I mean giraffe!)

Trick or treating round two with his friend Audrey (I mean Pipi). James the train is now visually impaired!

Practicing scary pumpkin faces!

More backyard football!

Grant, now 34, still thinks he is in high school! "Son, I will show you even though I might pull my groin!"

"Coach Daddy, I'm not tired!" (or dirty)

Introduce the kid to a few football games and he picks up on everything! Here Ethan is "checking if his line is ready!"

The receiving line was ready.....

Mortin for Daddy!

Ethan's love for trains!

Waving Baby!

This is my 20 week ultrasound! Ethan attended with me as Grant had to attend a teacher conference as the district is recognizing him and his co-teacher as the role models for successful co-teachers. Truly a compliment! Ethan was so amazed and wanting to see the "baby heart" many times! For awhile Ethan was caressing my arm, like to say "it's ok momma", then he moved on to honking my nose! The baby was very active and kept moving his/her arms around, which made it very entertaining for Ethan as I would commentate with "Hi Ethan, I am your baby brother or sister.." It was so cute as Ethan would wave back and then return to honking my nose!
