OUR FAMILY vacationed this summer to Yellowstone National Park, a vacation we bid on at a live auction. We had a wonderful time and Ethan was very humorous throughout the whole vacation with letting everyone know that all of the animals in the park were poopin’ (definitely symbolized what stage we are at…potty training!)
GRANT made a school change this year to Holt High School and is truly enjoying it! He made his way into coaching with the JV football team and hopes to coach track this spring. Grant also took on the role of Student Council Advisor at Holt. It is believed that he had such a great experience as class vice-president during his own high school days (with a wonderful young lady as president, now his wife) that he was naturally drawn to this! Grant shot a 7 point and a 4 point so far this hunting season, but both never made it to our freezer as he tracked both of them for hours and never found them. At least this is some improvement from the last 3 years!
AMYSUE has increased her work hours slightly to about 14 hours/week as a home and community based Recreational Therapist. Motherhood continues to be a wonderful experience with Ethan continuing to make her gut laugh out loud everyday. However she is finding it more and more challenging not to laugh instead of disciple (at times) as he continues to come up with more and more creative things to do and say! AmySue continues to be a member of Junior League of Lansing and received a great honor this past spring when presented with the placement award out of 150+ women for going “above and beyond her placement job description.”
ETHAN turned 3 mid-November! He and Chinook continue to get each other in trouble! He is a rough and tough kid. He loves to play outside, pretending to “deer-hunting”, dig in the dirt, pick up dog poop with his special shovel (yes, he loves to do this…weird kid) and play with sticks. Ethan also likes trains, fire trucks, balls, riding his trike inside our home and imitating marching bands with varies household items like pots and pans from the kitchen. Anyone who calls our home wonders how many kids are over and although he has playmates over often, it is typically just him…loud and energetic from the moment his eyes open!
